Our commitment to accessible media

Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to accessible streaming media. WCAG 2.2 AA, ADA Title III, continuous improvement.

Adapted for the Zanzi stage site from the HNN / Lolli Brands source documents. Draft — pending final legal review.

HNN believes that the world's leading health information should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. We are committed to providing a digital experience that is usable by people with a wide range of abilities and that complies with applicable accessibility laws and guidelines, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA Title III) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a single moment in time. This Statement covers the HNN website (including the Zanzi site), HNN's OTT applications, and Channel Owner Content.

1. HNN Website Accessibility

The HNN website is being built and maintained with the goal of conformance to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We approach accessibility at the code level rather than relying on third-party overlay widgets. In practice, this includes:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy for screen reader compatibility
  • Descriptive alternative text on images conveying meaningful information
  • Properly labeled form fields and interactive elements
  • Sufficient color contrast meeting WCAG 2.2 AA ratios
  • Full keyboard navigation support without requiring a mouse
  • Visible focus indicators for keyboard users
  • ARIA landmarks and roles where appropriate
  • Text that can be resized without loss of content or functionality
  • Avoidance of content that flashes in ways that could trigger seizures

HNN does not use accessibility overlay widgets, plug-ins, or third-party JavaScript tools that attempt to retrofit accessibility onto an otherwise inaccessible website. HNN engages in ongoing review through internal review, automated testing tools, and periodic third-party audits as appropriate.

2. HNN OTT Apps Accessibility

HNN's OTT applications are distributed through major streaming platforms, each of which provides robust device-level accessibility frameworks, and HNN's apps are built to operate within and leverage these features, including:

  • Roku: TalkBack screen reader, closed captioning, audio guide, high-contrast and zoom display modes
  • Apple TV / iOS: VoiceOver screen reader, closed captioning, audio descriptions, larger text, increased contrast, and accessibility shortcuts
  • Amazon Fire TV: VoiceView screen reader, closed captioning, screen magnifier, and high-contrast text
  • Android / Android TV: TalkBack screen reader, switch access, captions, and accessibility menu
  • Samsung / LG / other Smart TVs: native accessibility settings, voice guide, captions, magnification

Closed captions are supported across HNN's OTT apps where the underlying content has been delivered with captions. Channel Owners are contractually obligated to provide closed captions on their content.

3. Channel Owner Content Accessibility

Channel Owner Content is produced by the Channel Owner, not by HNN. Each Channel Owner is responsible for the accessibility of the content they create and upload, including providing closed captions on video content, descriptive alternative text where applicable, screen-reader-compatible written content, and audio descriptions on premium long-form content where appropriate and feasible. HNN provides technical specifications and recommended practices but is not the producer of Channel Owner Content and does not pre-review every piece for accessibility conformance. If you encounter an accessibility issue with specific Channel Owner content, please contact the Channel Owner directly; you may also report the issue to HNN at the accessibility contact below.

4. Known Limitations

  • Some legacy content originally produced for non-streaming use may lack closed captioning or audio descriptions.
  • Specific accessibility features may vary by streaming platform based on the capabilities of the underlying device operating system.
  • Third-party content linked from the HNN Platform may have accessibility limitations beyond our control.
  • Live streaming content may include real-time captions that, by nature of live captioning, may include errors or delays.

5. Requesting Accommodations

Accessibility Contact

Please include in your message: a description of the accessibility barrier you encountered; the specific page, app, content, or feature involved; the assistive technology (if any) you were using; and your preferred method of follow-up. We will acknowledge your request promptly and work with you to identify an appropriate accommodation.

6. Third-Party Limitations

The HNN Platform incorporates and depends on third-party technologies, platforms, and content. Where third-party content, platforms, or services included in or linked from the Platform have accessibility limitations that are outside HNN's control, we are not responsible for those limitations. To the extent permitted by applicable law, HNN shall not be liable for accessibility issues caused by third-party tools, third-party content, or any external websites linked from our Platform.
