How HNN uses cookies and similar technologies

Cookie Policy

How HNN and the Zanzi site use cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them.

Adapted for the Zanzi stage site from the HNN / Lolli Brands source documents. Draft — pending final legal review.

This Cookie Policy explains how HNN uses cookies and similar technologies on the HNN website, HNN's OTT applications, and related digital properties, including the Zanzi site (collectively, the "Platform"). It is a companion document to HNN's Privacy Policy. By using the Platform, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this Policy, subject to the controls described below.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit them. Cookies allow the website to recognize your device on subsequent visits, remember your preferences, and gather information about how you use the site.

  • Session cookies: temporary cookies deleted when you close your browser
  • Persistent cookies: cookies that remain for a set period or until you delete them
  • First-party cookies: set by HNN directly through the Platform
  • Third-party cookies: set by third-party services we integrate (such as analytics providers or content delivery networks)

In addition to cookies, HNN may use pixels and web beacons, local storage, Software Development Kits (SDKs) in its mobile and OTT apps, device identifiers, and server logs.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

CategoryPurposeCan opt out?
Strictly NecessaryRequired for the Platform to function: authentication, security, session management, load balancing, fraud preventionNo (essential)
Performance & AnalyticsHelp us understand how the Platform is used: page views, navigation paths, performance metrics, error trackingYes
FunctionalEnable personalization and preferences: language, video quality, layout choices, accessibility settingsYes
Marketing & AdvertisingSupport content recommendations and any marketing measurement: campaign effectiveness, audience insightsYes

Strictly Necessary cookies cannot be disabled through our preference manager because the Platform would not function without them. HNN does not currently serve third-party advertising on the Platform and does not currently engage in cross-context behavioral advertising. If we begin to do so in the future, we will update this Policy and provide enhanced controls.

3. Third-Party Cookies and Services

Some cookies are placed by third-party services we use to support the Platform, which may include analytics providers, content delivery networks (CDNs), payment processors (for HNN corporate transactions), customer support tools, authentication providers, and embedded content providers. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie practices. When you subscribe to or purchase content from a Channel Owner, that transaction is processed by the Channel Owner's payment processor, and any cookies it sets are governed by the Channel Owner's privacy policy and the payment processor's cookie policy, not by HNN.

4. Mobile and OTT Apps

HNN's mobile apps (iOS, Android) and OTT apps (Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, smart TVs) do not use traditional browser cookies. Instead, they use similar technologies including SDKs, mobile advertising identifiers (such as Apple IDFA or Google Advertising ID), and platform-provided identifiers, which you can manage through your device settings. Many platforms offer a "Limit Ad Tracking" or "Reset Advertising Identifier" option.

5. Your Choices & How to Control Cookies

When you first visit the HNN website, you will see a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or customize your cookie preferences, which you can change at any time from the website footer. Through the preferences manager you can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, customize by category, or withdraw consent at any time. Most web browsers also allow you to delete existing cookies, block third-party cookies, or block all cookies (which will impair Platform functionality).

Because there is no industry consensus on how to respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals, HNN does not currently respond to DNT signals. HNN honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out mechanism for users in jurisdictions where such signals are legally recognized (such as California under CPRA).

6. State-Specific and Jurisdiction-Specific Rights

California residents have specific rights regarding cookies and tracking technologies, including the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; although HNN does not currently engage in such practices, California residents may exercise this right at any time by adjusting cookie preferences or contacting privacy@hnn.media. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states have similar rights. For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, we obtain prior consent for the use of non-essential cookies, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

7. Children

The HNN Platform is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly use cookies to track or profile minors. See the Privacy Policy for more on children's privacy.

8. Changes to This Policy

HNN may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulatory requirements, our practices, or operational needs. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date, post the updated Policy, and provide additional notice for material changes.
